When the Summer season officially begins, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Soaking up the sun? Vacation? End to another school year? Spending time with friends and family? For us, Memorial Day is a silent milestone marking the beginning of warm weather and fun times! It's a time where we come together with family and friends for good food, great memories, and endless opportunities. Like many other things, this Memorial Day may look different under current circumstances but even if it’s not the same as past holidays, that’s the very reason why we should make it unforgettable!
It’s All About the Food
First things first – food always reigns supreme as we reopen the grill and smoke after a long winter season and our family favorite summer specials make their way from our cookbooks to the kitchen. We all have the signature dishes which accompany the array of hot dogs, hamburgers, fruit salad, vegetable trays, making counter space an essential need to any hosting pro. The kitchen becomes a gathering place for conversation, laughter and the simple act of keeping each other company while creating edible master pieces. Depending on the layout of your home and the requirements of your dishes, this can be done anywhere! Keep it inside for convenience and counter space or take it outside where everyone can be impressed by your cooking craftsmanship! Whatever the case, this is always the conversation starter focal point of a summer weekend!
Stay and Hang Awhile
With Winter gone along with the cold, we are flocking to the outdoors without delay to reacquaint ourselves with warmth and rays of sunshine. We start planning what kind of flowers we’ll bring in for the backyard, new herbs for the raised garden we’ve been dreaming about and dusting off the outdoor furniture in the garage. Unlike most gatherings over the holidays, a simple picnic blanket and green grass is sometimes all you need to the best seat in the house! But to add more dimension and fun to our holiday weekend, we look for those special accents like fire pits, twinkle lights, and color coordinated plastic table clothes for the tables to make the backyard or patio a place of entertainment.
We wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day and hope you make it as unforgettable as we think you are!
